About Arrest Ledger
Arrest Ledger is a static reference site. It reports aggregate counts of crime incident reports submitted to the Chicago Police Department and of those the same records flag as resulting in an arrest.
What this site is
This site does one thing: it shows counts that the Chicago Police Department publishes, grouped by year, primary crime type, police district and month, with the source named on every data page. It provides no live records search, publishes no records about individuals, and adds no commentary on any person or case.

That disclaimer is printed word for word in the footer at the bottom of this page and of every other page of this site.
Counts are reproduced as published by the source. The arrest count is the number of incident reports the same records flag as resulting in an arrest. These are reports submitted to the department, not proven offences, and an arrest is not a conviction.
